7 Jacob Lewis Fair was born July 29, 1873 in Codorus, York, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer, fire watchman, janitor and hospital maintenance man. He married Mellie Kessler on October 7, 1894. She died tragically on October 12, 1895. Jacob and Mellie have one son.
Jacob remarried Anna Gertrude Myers on March 7, 1901. She was a foster daughter of Emanuel Bortner and Annie Krebs born to watchmaker and farmer Adam Diehl Myers and Mary Elizabeth Folckemmer and was born December 6, 1879 in Glen Rock. Annie's father Adam enlisted in the 166th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Co. K on October 24, 1862 and served until July 28, 1863. He was involved with the Battle of Deserted House, Siege of Suffolk and other operations under Major General John Peck during Dix's Peninsula Campaign.
