5 Henry "Penfield Palin" Daniel Deveney was born June 7, 1867 in Codorus, York, Pennsylvania. He left Pennsylvania for Ohio to work for Standard Oil of Ohio. A company created by J. D. Rockefeller and later purchased by B.P. (British Petroleum) and worked for that same company in Elizabeth, New Jersey. On February 19, 1930 while he was working at the Standard Oil plant in Elizabeth, New Jersey as a signalman an explosion occurred that injured 60 and killing 10 workers.
Penfield married Theresa Evelyn "Eva" Turner. Daughter of Indiana farmer and later foundry worker Thomas Turner and Sarah Boone and was born in 1880 in Hamilton, Indiana. She was previously married to farm hand Charles Sowder on September 4, 1897 in Hamilton, Indiana. They had 2 sons together. Fred and Thomas. She later married Standard Oil worker and later plumber John Waid Wolfe on January 30, 1906 in Richland, Ohio. They had no children and later divorced. After that Penfield and Eva moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey where they would live the rest of their days.
