7 Ozias McClellan Bortner was born October 9, 1862 in Codorus, York, Pennsylvania. He was in the Green Ridge Cornet and Orchestra Band (AKA Brodbeck's Band) along with his brothers Rolandes, Eckert, Joatham and Edmund "Edward". He married Cora Slyder on November 1, 1890. She was a daughter of farm hand Nathaniel Slyder and Louisa Catherine Kump and was born March 14, 1874 in Westminster, Carroll, Maryland.
Ozias died September 2, 1893 in Codorus, York, Pennsylvania leaving Cora to raise their son Ozias. Cora remarried machinst and moulder Charles William "Beany" Miller on December 19, 1899. He was a son of tailor Jacob Daniel Miller and Catherine Zartman and was born February 21, 1875 in Osnaburg, Stark, Ohio. Charles and Cora had two children of their own. Rena and Charles William Jr.

1 Harter Jay Bortner was born August 21, 1891 in Codorus, York, Pennsylvania. He died young on March 24, 1892 in Codorus, York, Pennsylvania.
2 Cletus Ozias Storm Bortner was born August 25, 1893 in Lewiston, Maryland. He was a moulder and later baggage man for the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. He married Harriet Irene Slothour on September 12, 1914. She was a daughter of farmer Amos Slothour and Cora Sowers and was born May 16, 1896 in Fairfield, Adams, Pennsylvania.
Irene died September 27, 1937 in Canton, Stark, Ohio. Cletus remarried Maude Eveline Myra on February 3, 1940. She was a daughter of carpenter Naaman Abraham Myra and Annie Laura Himmelman and was born June 23, 1899 in Bayport, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Cletus and Irene raised 3 children.

Cletus Bortner Jr. was enlisted in the 37th Division Infantry (AKA Buckeye Brigade). He was killed in action on March 9, 1944.

Relieving Marine units, 8-19 November 1943, the 37th took over the perimeter defense of the area, constructed roads and bridges and engaged in extensive patrol activity. In March 1944, two Japanese divisions made eight major attacks, but Division lines held.)
